David has developed and studied shared virtual reality for 30 years, until recently in Academia. He was a research professor for 15 years.
His leadership positions include head of the UK's EPSRC National Industrial Center for Virtual Environment, and Academic Lead of Digital Health and XR health at the University of Salford. He has also led collaborative research projects with partners including UCL and the universities of Reading and Salford, and has led Salford's contribution to many international projects.
His primary interest is in social cognition for interactions with synthetic humans.
